Alabama Senate Special Election

So a few night I decided to look at the special election that was being conducted for Jeff Session’s seat. There were a few signs that this would be a surprise and something to be able to keep a close eye on as the 2018 election comes to the front view. The special election in Alabama really shined a lot on a lot of things from the brand messaging that the Grand Old Party (GOP) delivered was very poor – to the Democratic Brand messaging which they showed that they were the better choice. Also, the special election shined a light on a new demographic: Black Voters; specifically, black female voters who came out and wanted to show their support for the democratic candidate Doug Jones who won. But I want to be able to take the time to congratulate the Senator-Elect Doug Jones; but more importantly I want to be able to congratulate the 49.9% of the population who came out and made their voice heard. That’s the best part about our way of governance, the fact that the republic heard the voices of the citizens of Alabama who rejected the ideology of pedophilia, bigotry, and misogyny that has been promoted by the GOP. One of the things that we need to look at is the concept of Trumpism and how that will end up damaging the country if we do not try to change it with people who care about this country.

Many people are calling the election of Roy Moore and Doug Jones a bellwether of 2018 as they look at the historical win of Scott Brown and the damage that the Democratic Party had in 2010; where they had complete major control of both the United States Senate and House of Representatives. But the Democratic Party managed to make mistakes along the way that costed them that control; but now we understood the consequences of ignoring the stakeholders and the party itself is taking necessary measures to ensure that we don’t ignore them 100%. There was an article that was published in the Slate Magazine that explained that the Doug Jones campaign owes its victory to the 98%; mostly Black females that wanted to send a message and I’m here to say that WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR! So, in 2018; we must ensure that all parties involved are heard by a party that wants to take the wheel back and make sure that we fulfill the dreams of Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama – a direction that puts America on a path of success; progressive – forwardness.
